Bound by Soil

Anuradha Venkataraman's production "Bound by Soil" delves into the enduring struggle of marginalized seeking burial grounds, highlighting societal disparities and a widening wealth gap. It questions humanity`s moral compass amidst relentless material pursuits, influenced by Darwinian principles and power dynamics. The production uses Bharatanatyam as a movement language to explore this through an abstract imagery. Keerthi Kumar conceptualized and executed the lighting design to not only set the mood but also use light as a symbol of societal lament, delivering a powerful statement.
